Homecoming!

Sunday night we welcomed my middle brother, Garret, home from six months of boot camp and medic training for the Army. When we were flying out for our Disneyland trip Tyler saw a mom and two kids welcoming their dad home from 18 months overseas. They had signs with them and Tyler immediately turned to me saying firmly, "We are doing that for Garret when he comes home."

Naturally, being one to let nothing go uncelebrated, I happily obliged. My mom and other siblings wanted to meet Garret as well, so a welcoming committee was formed, signs were made and we were off. I had told my brother's wife our plan, she laughed, reminded me that he hates surprises (which is half the fun) but told me their flight information anyway.

As it turns out, he still hates surprises, even good ones. Oh well! The next day he and his wife had us over for dinner and we spotted this hanging on the wall:

Mission Accomplished

  1. He may say it differently than the rest of us but he really did have a smile stuck on his face for hours... It was greatly appreciated. I'm very lucky my girls had their cousins and aunts and uncles around them when they got to see their daddy come home. We love you very much.

  2. Aww, thanks Kate! I know. He's a cutie. I have to give him a hard time, it's sibling code!
